RELATIONSHIP ANXIETY
Overcoming Relationship Anxiety
When you’re dealing with strained relationships with people who are important to you, it’s totally normal to feel anxious and uneasy. Whether it’s your partner, spouse, or adult child, these tensions can really affect your emotional well-being. While family therapy or couple’s therapy can be super helpful, it’s not always an option if the other members of the relationship aren’t willing to join in.
As a therapist, I like to use the family systems model, which basically says that when one person in a family changes, the whole dynamic shifts. This means that individual therapy can be just as impactful, even if your loved ones aren’t participating.
If you’re struggling with a partner, spouse, or family member, I’m here to help you navigate these challenges. We can work together to set boundaries, understand your feelings of guilt, and gain insight into your relationships. Therapy can really make a difference in improving your emotional health, even if the relationship tensions aren’t immediately resolved.
On the other hand, if you’re single and wishing for a life partner, but haven’t found one yet, it can be really tough. This anxiety can be amplified by the pressures of aging, limited access to other singles, and the overwhelming experience of online dating—especially in a post-pandemic world. If you’ve had a series of relationships that didn’t work out or have never been in a serious relationship, you might start to wonder if there’s something about you holding you back.
I’ll help you explore these feelings to uncover the deeper patterns in your relationships, empowering you to gain confidence in yourself and your future. Together, we can work to untangle the feelings of self-doubt or worry surrounding your relationships, and I’ll guide you in building the confidence to engage with others in healthy, fulfilling ways.
You have succeeded when all you really want is only what you really need.
